Curtains is operated by Billion Flower Moon Studios LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company.
The short version: Curtains is for adults who show up as themselves and treat each other decently. We pay attention to how people behave, not just what they post.
These guidelines cover everything you do on Curtains: your profile, your Scenes, your messages, and how you treat the people you meet here, including off Curtains. They apply alongside our Terms.
18+, no exceptions#
- Curtains is for adults 18 and over. If we learn that a member is under 18, we remove the account.
- Your age on Curtains is your real age.
Be yourself#
- Your profile shows you. Include at least 2 photos of you, and any photo that seems to be of you must really be you. Other photos, such as places, pets, or you with friends, are fine. But no one else's photos presented as you, no celebrities, and no AI-generated or heavily edited images presented as you. Everyday filters are fine. If you take the face check, your phone compares your photos with a live selfie (Terms, Section 10.2).
- Don't pretend to be someone else, and don't make an account for anyone else.
- One account per person. Don't share, buy or sell accounts.
Consent governs images#
- Never post or share an intimate image of anyone without their consent, on Curtains or anywhere else. That includes images made or altered with AI.
- Never threaten to share someone's intimate images, or demand money or more images to keep them private.
- Don't share other members' Scenes, photos or messages outside Curtains without their consent.
- If an intimate image of you was shared without your consent, our intimate images policy explains how to get it removed.
No minors in any image#
- No photo or Scene may show anyone under 18: not your kids, not your siblings, not anyone's. No exceptions.
- Anything that sexualizes a minor, or any attempt to contact, groom or exploit a minor, gets an immediate ban. We report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and preserve it as the law requires.
No selling, no soliciting, no asking for money#
- Curtains isn't a storefront. No promoting businesses, products, paid content or your social media following. No escorting or other commercial sex, no "sugar" arrangements, and no investment or crypto pitches.
- Never ask a member for money, gift cards, cryptocurrency or financial details, for any reason. Asking even once gets the account banned. If someone asks you, don't send anything, and report them. Our romance-scam guide shows the warning signs.
- Sharing your own contact details with a match, when you're ready, is your call. Pushing people off Curtains fast, or in bulk, is a scam pattern, and we treat it as one.
Be decent#
- No harassment, hate, threats or stalking.
- No slurs or attacks on anyone for who they are, such as their race, religion, gender, gender identity or sexual orientation.
- No unwanted sexual messages, comments or requests, and no nudity or sexual content in your profile.
- If someone stops replying, unmatches or blocks you, that's your answer. Don't contact them again, on Curtains or anywhere else, and never from another account.
- Don't share anyone's personal information without their consent.
Rejection is part of dating. Taking it out on someone isn't.
Scenes: real, recent, yours#
Scenes are recent moments from your own life, taken with the in-app camera. So:
- no photos of screens, and no reposts of other people's content
- no nudity or sexual content
- no contact details, social handles or QR codes, because every match sees your Scenes
- everything else on this page applies too, including no one under 18 in the frame
A Scene shows where you are right now, so think before you post (Scenes and screenshots).
We review first#
Nothing you post or send is shown to anyone else until it passes our review: automated checks, a person, or both. That covers your profile, photos, Scenes and messages. Content that breaks these guidelines isn't shown, and may count against your account. If we refuse a message, it isn't delivered, and we tell you.
Off Curtains counts#
What happens on a date that started here matters here. So does harassment that moves to another app. We act on credible reports of harm off Curtains, up to and including a ban. If something happened, report it to us, and to the police if you choose to.
Reporting is protected#
- Report anything that breaks these guidelines or feels wrong: tap Report on a profile, Scene or conversation, or email safety@curtainsdating.com (how to report).
- The member you report never learns who reported them. Reporting also blocks them, except a report that they may hurt themselves. A person reviews every report, and we tell you the outcome.
- Retaliating against someone for reporting breaks our rules. So does knowingly making a false report. Honest mistakes don't.
How enforcement works#
We look at the report, the whole conversation in both directions, and the account's history. Then we act on the account, not just the content. For harassment, our harassment-report policy sets out each step.
One ladder. Most breaks of these guidelines follow three steps:
- Notice. We remove the content if it breaks the rules, and tell you which guideline you broke.
- Restriction. We limit what your account can do, for a set time or until further notice: for example, starting conversations, posting Scenes or appearing in discovery.
- Ban. We close the account. A ban covers the person, not just the account, so don't come back with a new one.
Immediate bans. Severe harm skips the ladder and goes straight to a ban:
- anything that sexualizes a minor, or any attempt to contact, groom or exploit one
- sharing, or threatening to share, someone's intimate images without consent
- credible threats of violence
- stalking
- credible reports of violence or sexual assault, including on a date
- asking a member for money, pretending to be someone else, or any other fraud
- selling or buying sex
- using another account to keep contacting someone, or to come back after a ban
When we ban an account, members who used Tickets on conversations with it may get those Tickets back, and a ban for fraud also triggers safety alerts. Fraud bans and safety alerts explains both.
Appeals. If we act on your account and you think we got it wrong, email support@curtainsdating.com. You don't need to be able to sign in. We look at the decision again, with anything new you send us, and tell you the result. The decision stays in place while we review it.
